Leading with Purpose: Focus Point Recognised on UNGCMYB ESG Select List 2025

Focus Point Holdings Berhad has been recognised as a 2-Star Lister on the inaugural UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB) ESG Select List 2025, in recognition of our leadership in ESG Trailblazer and ESG Breakthrough Innovation. The milestone was commemorated on 19 December 2025 at our headquarters, where UNGCMYB Executive Director Faroze Nadar presented the certificate to our President & CEO, Dato’ Liaw Choon Liang, alongside a live demonstration of Airdoc AI Fundus Screening for UNGCMYB members.

We are proud to share that Focus Point Holdings Berhad has been selected for inclusion in the inaugural ESG Select List 2025 by the UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB), earning recognition as a 2-Star Lister.

The ESG Select List is UNGCMYB’s refreshed sustainability recognition framework, created to spotlight organisations that demonstrate credible progress and tangible outcomes in advancing their sustainability agenda. This is a non-competitive, non-ranked initiative, where organisations are recognised based solely on demonstrated impact rather than comparison with peers.

The framework recognises companies across five specific sustainability categories, with each star representing successful recognition in one category. Being awarded two stars reflects the breadth of Focus Point’s sustainability leadership and our commitment to driving impact across multiple areas of action.

Focus Point was recognised for exemplary achievements in ESG Trailblazer and ESG Breakthrough Innovation. As an ESG Trailblazer, we became the first optical retail chain to join the UN Global Compact, embedding the Ten Principles into our business operations and strengthening governance through the formalisation of climate risk oversight via our inaugural Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) Statement.

In ESG Breakthrough Innovation, we redefined the role of optical retail by rolling out Airdoc AI Fundus Screening across our outlets. This innovation enables the early detection of more than 35 chronic diseases with over 95% accuracy, effectively transforming our stores into primary health triage points and improving access to preventive healthcare for the communities we serve.

These recognitions demonstrate Focus Point’s dual leadership in ethical governance and technology-driven health innovation, reinforcing our belief that sustainability must be deeply embedded in both strategy and execution to create lasting value.

This milestone was formally commemorated on 19 December 2025, during a certificate handover session held at Focus Point’s headquarters. The session was graced by Mr. Faroze Nadar, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei, who personally handed over the ESG Select List certificate to Dato’ Liaw Choon Liang, President & Chief Executive Officer of Focus Point Holdings Berhad, in the presence of our Management Team.

Beyond the formal ceremony, the session also provided an opportunity for UNGCMYB members to experience the Airdoc AI Fundus Screening firsthand, offering a practical demonstration of how technology-driven innovation can play a meaningful role in advancing preventive healthcare and sustainability outcomes.
