Love Your Eyes: Every Story Counts
Sometimes, a child doesn’t struggle to learn, they simply cannot see clearly.
A blurred whiteboard, words that don’t make sense, and eyes that strain just to keep up are daily realities for many children, yet they often go unnoticed.
As optometrists, we see this every day. Behind every eye test is a story, a child trying their best, a teacher wondering why a student is falling behind, and a parent unaware that vision could be the underlying cause. At Focus Point, we believe vision care is more than a service, it is a responsibility.
Through FOCUS4Sight, our vision care initiative, we are guided by a simple but meaningful vision to make quality eye care accessible to all, especially those who need it most.
In collaboration with our valued partner IJM Land, we brought FOCUS4Sight to communities across Penang, Kuala Lumpur, and Kuching, screening 181 students, with 129 of them now seeing the world more clearly.
For many of these students, it was their first proper eye check. Some did not realise their vision was poor until they wore a pair of glasses and experienced clear sight for the very first time. In that moment, something changes, not just their vision, but their confidence, their engagement in class, and their belief in themselves.
A pair of glasses may seem small, but its impact is life changing.
This journey is made possible by the people who bring it to life. FOCUS4Sight is more than a programme. It is our commitment to bridging the gap in vision care, reaching communities, and ensuring no child is left behind simply because they cannot see.
