Every Hero Deserves to See the World They Once Protected

That moment came on 9 October 2025, when we formalised our collaboration with Jabatan Hal Ehwal Veteran Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (JHEV ATM) during the Majlis Peluncuran Kempen Tabung Pahlawan (KTP) 2025/2026, held at Dewan Zulkifeli Zin, Wisma Perwira Tentera Darat, Kem Perdana Sungai Besi.

The event, graced by YABhg. Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Dr. Wan Ismail, YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, and Mejar Jeneral Dato’ Haji Semaon bin Haji Marjuki, was not just a ceremony but a celebration of resilience, sacrifice, and shared humanity. Standing among the nation’s heroes, the air was filled with gratitude and pride. Each handshake, each smile, and each story reminded us that behind every pair of eyes is a lifetime of service and sacrifice.

The partnership between Focus Point and JHEV ATM marks the beginning of the Focus Point HeroCare Privilege Programme, a three-year initiative that aims to benefit up to 200,000 individuals including veterans, their family members, and staff under JHEV ATM, YVATM, and DVet Holdings.

Through this collaboration, Focus Point will provide free comprehensive eye examinations, exclusive membership benefits, and special privileges to the veteran community. Beyond these tangible benefits lies something deeper, the chance to restore sight, confidence, and independence for those who once protected our freedom.

When we think about social impact, it is easy to measure numbers, but the true value lies in the stories. A veteran who can now see his grandchildren’s smiles clearly, a mother who can read again without strain, or a soldier who no longer struggles with blurred vision in daily life. These are the human moments that give our work meaning.

This collaboration reflects our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being, which emphasizes ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.

Good vision is not a luxury. It is a basic human need that affects education, productivity, mental health, and overall quality of life. By extending quality eye care to underserved communities such as our veterans, we aim to close health gaps and make wellness more inclusive.

At Focus Point, our social initiatives, including the work of the FP Caring Hearts Charity Foundation, are designed to create shared value where business success and social progress move hand in hand. This partnership with JHEV ATM reinforces our belief that the private sector can play a powerful role in building a more compassionate and equitable society.
