A Clearer Vision for a Brighter Future: FOCUS4Sight at PPR Pekan Batu

On 14 June 2025, our FOCUS4Sight: Community Vision Project took another meaningful step forward. Together with our collaborator, Great Heart Charity Association, and with the strong support of the FP Aeon Kepong branch team, we carried out a full day of vision care for the B40 community at PPR Pekan Batu.

• 134 vision screenings were conducted
• 43 pairs of eyewear were sponsored and donated
• Daily essentials and goods were provided to participants by Great Heart Charity Association, ensuring families not only left with clearer vision but also with support for their everyday needs

Behind these numbers are stories of children who can now see the classroom board more clearly, parents who can work with greater ease, and seniors who can enjoy daily life without struggling to see.

For many of us, putting on glasses is something we take for granted. But for those in underserved communities, a single pair of eyewear and a bag of essential goods can mean a world of difference, offering comfort, dignity, and hope.

Vision health is often overlooked, yet it plays a crucial role in breaking cycles of inequality. Poor eyesight can hold children back in school, reduce productivity at work, and even impact safety and confidence. By offering screenings and eyewear sponsorships, we aim to reduce these barriers and open doors to brighter futures.

This project would not have been possible without the passion and commitment of our volunteers, the unwavering support from our FP Aeon Kepong branch team, and the collaboration with Great Heart Charity Association, who went the extra mile to care for families’ well-being through their generous distribution of daily necessities.

Every smile, every “thank you,” and every child who put on their first pair of glasses reminded us why community efforts matter so much.

We believe community projects like these are not just about one day of service — they are about creating ripples of positive change.
